Pride is one of the main ideology's that we feel is a quality we should build in ourselves . To learn skills , develop talents , achieve successes to increase our sense of self worth . Being proud of our achievements is one thing but in relationships that pride can repel because we can often subconsciously require others to recognize and value us and when we feel that is not we can be defensive and feel offended.
Humility however enters into a connection without the requirement of another seeing and bolstering our value . Yet rather offers spaciousness and invites the other to reveal their qualities without competition but curiosity. This willingness for us to show up in such a way creates and nurturing space for authenticity to be revealed.
When we connect from this place we enter each new situation with a excited sense of gratitude. Knowing that if we show up authentically we will discover something new about ourselves in the eyes of the witnessing other . Both evolving from the interaction without agenda but the inquisitive nature of a child
