When we love someone the greatest joy we can have is to appreciate them unconditionally
When we are fortunate to have the gift of loving another there is not a rulebook of things we have to do for them . We often set high expectations on ourselves for loving another and pass these on to others as well .
If we set ourselves up to meet some imagined high standards we then create fear in us , around not living up to them and losing the object of our love . Also perversely this can twist our relationship with them as we expect them to live up to these same dynamics and judge their love for us accordingly .
Love is the absence of conditions not the enforcement of them , so when we surrender these unruly expectations we free others from living up to some unreasonable demands , and are able to truly appreciate them for who they are and discover that loving another is the greatest joy in life .
